Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a United States Federal holiday marking the birthdate of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around the time of King’s birthday, January 15. King was the chief spokesman for nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement, which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law. He was assassinated in 1968.

The campaign for a federal holiday in King’s honor began soon after his assassination. Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983, and it was first observed in 1986. At first, some states resisted observing the holiday as such, giving it alternative names or combining it with other holidays. It was officially observed in all 50 states for the first time in 2000. Well I’m writing this post based on the sad event of Teddy Pendergrass’s death. (Moment of silence…………) Alright so what’s next well of course I’m going to make a DJ mix of some of his music; hopefully before the weekend is out. “Teddy Pendergrass, R&B Soul Singer, Dies at 59

Teddy Pendergrass, the Philadelphia soul singer whose husky, potent baritone was one definition of R&B seduction in the 1970s but whose career suffered a blow in 1982 when an auto accident left him severely paralyzed, died on Wednesday night in Bryn Mawr, Pa. He was 59.

His death was confirmed by his friend and publicist, Lisa Barbaris, who said Mr. Pendergrass had been hospitalized for treatment of colon cancer since August at Bryn Mawr Hospital and had suffered many complications.

As the lead singer for Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, and in a solo career in which he sold millions of albums, Mr. Pendergrass brought gospel dynamics to bedroom vows in songs like “If You Don’t Know Me by Now,” “The Love I Lost,” “Close the Door,” “Turn Out the Lights” and “Love T.K.O.”

His performances rose from breathy whispers to gutsy exhortations, making his voice the deeper, more aggressive counterpart to the styles of 1970s soul men like Al Green and Marvin Gaye. It was the flagship sound for Philadelphia International Records, riding lush strings and big-band disco from the producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff.”

The Works

I figure I should keep this blog and just update it with random stuff like the other blog Which you can visit at http://conectionz.tk. In the mean time I’m goining to figure out what will make The Mind of Conectionz; diffrent from The Last Stop but once I do. I’ll figure out a way I can link both blogs together and it will be the Ultimate Conection. Also before all of that happens I have to get this site finshed and ready for a show that way people know this is really the real deal. In the meantime I find my self pretty busy and I haven’t made much music Which really isn’t good. So I’m going to be creating a lot more music really in this little time I have before school so I’ll be on my grind. I’m not going to get that laptop because I guess I’m more of a powerful desktop kind of person. So I’m currently looking to buy a desktop before school starts also.

If you have time please support I mean like do whaterver you can do. Which is basicly like following me on Twitter or even becoming friends on facebook. So just help out by doing which ever is best for you.

Wow I was currently at two different cell phone stores; and I was trying
to figure out which phone I should get for my new upgrade coming in
august. I just can’t figure out if I should get another Sidekick which
would be the sidekick lx 09. Then I there’s always the G1 or a
blackberry which I think both are both pretty descent phones. Along with
the fact that both phones will allow me to stay on top of my grind when
I’m on the road with the blog and social networking accounts. Well I
guess I’ll just have to keep thinking about which one of the 3 phones
I’m going to get. Otherwise this was The Last Stop before you leave your
1st sense of reality and “I’m Out”……

Well today’s post is more informecial than actual a blog entry.

Yesturday I did get a sidekick 2008 I’m still getting the Sidekick 2009 I just wanna be used to the interface and have a better feel for what I’m doing on the 09 once I get it. I also have to get another pair of studio monitior headphones because my last pair broke. So Once I buy some more I’ll be back to the mixin and makin new instrumentals. A New Day!!!!

Well so far Music’s TKO was a great summer mixtape I’m currently working on another mixtape which I’ll tell you about in later days to come. In the meantime I just wanna say that I’m back with the daily post. I had to stop beacuse, I didn’t want the fans getting confused with all this new content on my blog and then they couldn’t find the mixtape which they came here looking for. So, yeah as always I’m writting this entry on the iPhone so if I have a little bit of grammar issuses my bad.

Now for today’s blog, a lotta people wanna know what’s new with me. Well for starters I’m about to get a new phone with T-mobile. I’m planing on getting the Sidekick LX 2009 which I believe is really the best Sidekick ever made. I mean I fell in love with the phone when I had first picked it up at the T-mobile store. During the time I was using it, the two things that popped out the most about the phone was its screen which I believe is the best screen you’ll ever find in a cell phone and its slimmer design is way better than the thick brick that we used to hold. I agree with most people the phone does look entirely stupid online but this is the type of device where you need to hold it before you review it. Enough said about the Sidekick, I’m still going to get a laptop too I just need to figure out when so I’m still holding off on the laptop lol.

It’s raining and it’s like 5 in the mourning I hope it doesn’t do this all day or else that would really just suck.
